In collaboration with the Los Angeles Valley College’s Abilities Club, “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” is a KICK OFF to MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH! Saturday, May 1st, 2021 on May Day 🦋🌻💜 starting at 3PM, we will have LIVE MUSICAL GUEST PERFORMANCES from AWARD-WINNING ARTISTS of ALL-ABILITIES, a three-time TED TALK speaker and Amazon best-selling author, Megan Gallagher, and many more SPECIAL GUESTS (see more about them below) sharing their stories about MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS.

We know it’s been a difficult year for all of us, feeling isolated and disconnected. Dealing with loss of loved ones, jobs, in-person classes, regular routines and many other aspects of our lives, has been extremely challenging. It’s normal to have feelings of hopelessness, despair, depression, loneliness and other feelings. Often times it’s difficult to get past them and find hope again.

Know, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Come connect with others and hear their stories of the challenges that impact their social and emotional well-being. Listen to authors, singers, songwriters, filmmakers, artists and others who have tapped into their CREATIVITY TO COPE and be UPLIFTED by their words of encouragement!

Then, after our SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS/ PERFORMERS, we will have an OPEN-MIC Forum where YOU will have an opportunity to share YOUR STORY and YOUR TALENTS if you would like.

We will end the night up with our HAPPIEST HOUR DANCE PARTY!!

Daniel Amaya aka Mizter Bonezz

Daniel was born with a genetic bone condition that debilitates him from regular daily life but that hasn’t stopped him from living his dream of being a DJ/ Music Producer!

He has opened up for artists such as: OT Genasis, Snoop Dogg, T Pain and Wiz Khalifa. And has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world such as Exchange LA, Avalon Hollywood and EDC (Electric Day Carnival) Stages in Las Vegas!

On his independent record label Shlumped Records, Daniel has a diverse spectrum of genres he produces and DJs, focusing on urban productions like hip hop, moombahton to high energy EDM like electro, house, psytrance and dubstep, just to a name a few.

“Mizter Bonezz” can easily adapt to ANY genre or setting that is placed in front of him. He is a true testament to the how the power of determination, when fueled by a passion for creativity, can change the trajectory of ones’ life. Daniel is a force to be reckoned with, and his musical talents paired with his infectious smile, ALWAYS brings the party to another level!

Arthur and David Caceras

22 year old twin brothers, David and Arthur are expert gamers, with a passion for anime and wrestling.

A dynamic duo of inspiration, their openness and honesty about their personal experiences empowers their audiences to work through their own struggles with a fresh perspective.

The unconditional love for their family and friends is a testament to how important a strong support system is when coping with mental health challenges.

Keep an eye out… when these “ Wonder Twin powers, active”, are world definitely changes for the better!

Quincy Coleman

“From climate change to systemic racism to cancer, we are living in a stage IV state of emergency. If we can take responsibility for the past, we can heal the present and change the future.” - Quincy Coleman

Singer/songwriter and Founder of H-OM-E, Quincy Coleman, daughter of famed actor Dabney Coleman, was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2009.

"When I decided to take responsibility for my part in the manifestation of the dis-ease in my body, the healing began and reversed without western medicine...by coming home to my soul, listening to my heart and loving the cancer."

Coleman believes with great passion, that if each one of us can take responsibility for our part in the manifestation of the dis-ease of our global family and the planet we can heal humanity and the earth!

H-OM-E creates, educates, celebrates, calls to action for justice, healing, and unity.

At just 25 years old, Megan has a unique perspective on mental health and how we can use certain tools to thrive in today’s generation, for our mental benefit.

As a 3x TED talk speaker, 4x best selling author, TV host, mental health advocate, podcast host and writer at Thrive Global, she continues to positively impact many lives and empowers others by sharing her own lived experiences with authenticity.

Aaron and Eli Johnson

The Los Angeles native siblings Aaron and Elijah, are multi-faceted creatives, including and co-owners of “Destiny Music Publishing, LLC”.

Born into a multicultural artistic family, they became self taught professionals from a young age. Honing their skills as illustrators, writers and music producers over the years, together they’ve ran massively successful crowdfunding campaigns and had their work published in several critically acclaimed projects such as “Leaders of the Free World”, “L’Atelier LA”, “Pitsberg”, and “Nightmare Detective” among others.

 When you meet them, you instantly are drawn in to their genuine positive, infectious energy. Their successes are not only for their own benefit, but they believe in the importance of giving back to their communities. “The goal is still the same: Being the greatest version of ourselves and encouraging others to do the same.”

20-year-old Singer-Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist, Nikki Lickstein, is best known for her sincere and fearless approach to music. Nikki Lickstein’s lyrics- paired with bright, infectious melodies- are sweet, yet purposeful, and serve as a true testament to her fierce individuality.

Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Nikki and Megan (Gallagher) joined forces, merging their passions, to create change through music!

A first generation Italian filmmaker and photographer, Rachel has a unique eye for beauty in everyone.

She has been a part of the neuro diverse community as an art facilitator for the Legacy Center since 2017.

Her passion is human connection and anyone who knows her personally, will attest her passion is a gift to us all. Rachel has a rare ability to connect with many who are unable to use traditional language, supporting them in alternate ways of communication.

Steven James Tingus is recognized as one of the nation’s leading experts, advocates, and thought leaders for disability, aging, and health and human services policy and programs.

Following the enactment of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Steven became the first mainstreamed “Handicapped” student into public schools in Northern California which set the stage for his achieving many lifelong accomplishments that also opened the doors and improved the lives for his peers with disabilities.

However, this was no easy feat. with so many barriers he’s had to overcome for decades. Steven realized at an early age the importance of our mental health and well-being. An eloquent and authentic speaker, he shares the tools and coping skills he’s learned along the way that have allowed him to achieve the successes he’s had.

As the Director of the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research at the U.S. Department of Education (Washington, DC) followed by serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (Disability, Aging, and Long-Term Care Policy) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Steven has lived experiences like no other.

Steven believes that “The entertainment industry can be an incredible ally in creating social change,” and enjoys bringing his expertise in disability policy to the industry in support of talent with disabilities. He has joined forces with Mother Road Studios, overseeing Diversity and Disability Inclusion, ensuring the development of new film and TV storylines provide accurate portrayals of individuals with disabilities, seniors, veterans, and others from underrepresented and minority groups.
